My big dilemma of the day is Stroller Shopping. I honestly would compare this experience to shopping for a car, a pain in the you know what!
You see, even though I have a 3 year old we need a new stroller. For 2 reasons:
1. We are going to Disney World next month for 7 nights and believe me you don’t ever want to venture over to the Magic Kingdom without one and rentals are $10 a day.
2. I like to shop the outlet malls, and again, and all day affair like that you need a stroller, even for a 3 or 4 or 5 year old.
Which leaves me to the task at hand that we need a new stroller.
We received our current stroller as a baby shower gift which included the matching car seat. Its a Graco something or other and has Pooh Bear all over it. Not very stylish if you ask me…but it was free, how can I complain?
We also received another free umbrella stroller from my cousin. This is your typical $10 stroller you get free at Toys R Us with purchase, and is really worth about that as it horrible to push. SO really, my huisband and I have never spent any money on a stroller and now is the time.
We did bring the bulky Pooh one last year to Disney, and while it had room for all our stuff it was well…big and bulky and a pain to fold up on those buses. We even got evil looks from everyone as if we were holding up the line! A unanimous decision was made and Pooh was voted out this year.
I have a few requests for my new stroller and really, you’d think that these would be simple requests and I would have tons of strollers to choose from:
Stroller must be light - As in light as a feather, under 10 lbs would be nice.
Stroller must fold up easily with one hand and be very compact.
Must have a shade and basket and preferably a snack tray
Must not cost more than $129
Easy Right? WRONG!!
The problem is I found a Maclaren Volo & Quest I like, guess what? No Basket and No Snack Tray. 2 Things we need for Disney.
I found a Peg Perego I like but the styles and colors are not my taste (I mean, if I am paying $129 for a 3 year olds stroller I should atleast like the looks of it right?)
and this is where I am now, stuck on what to buy and no progress has been made. I should note that I do not want a Graco, or a Kolcraft or any other “cheaper” stroller.
While I am not one to only buy the higher end things I have long term goals in mind, and that is to be able to resell this thing when I am done with it. Please let me know if you have any opinions on either of these, or have a specific stroller you have that would fit our needs.
I am off to Babies R Us to go for a test drive, and if your lucky I might also take some video
