Stay At Home Dad iMac Give-Away!

September 6, 2007

Mike, aka Stay At Home Dad, Geek Style, aka DevDad is holding another AWESOME contest, but this one blows the first one away by far! Congrats to Nell for winning the 1st one by the way!

This time around DevDad is partnering with SitterCity.com and giving away a brand new iMac!!!!

This brand new 20″ Apple iMac has a 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1 GB of memory, a 250 GB hard drive, an 8x SuperDrive DVD burner and a gorgeous 20″ glossy display. Mouse and keyboard are also included and the retail price goes for $1199!! Oh, how I would LOVE to win this!! I mean seriously this is an awesome prize and I am actually blown away that Mike is giving this baby away!

If you are not familiar with SitterCity, it is actually a great concept for parents looking for babysitters, nannies, child care providers, and even petsitters.

SitterCity is America’s leading sitter site, and each sitter has gone through a four-step screening process that has helped hundreds of thousands of parents and sitters nationwide find each other quickly, safely and easily.

Even though SitterCity specializes in babysitters and petsitters, you can also find tutors, housesitters, and other care providers.

If you are interested in winning the iMac from DevDad.com and SitterCity just check out Stay At Home Dad iMac Give-Away to learn how to enter. Even if you have no interest in the iMac (how could you not?) Check out Devdad.com anyway, he has a great blog and is a stay at home day to a little girl.

Also the next time your in need of a sitter of any kind don’t forget about checking out SitterCity!

I am never going to lose any weight…

September 5, 2007

by eating a whole can of nuts!

I started the South Beach Diet for 1 month before our vacation because I plan on eating like a pig while at Disney World next month. Yes, we got free dining, so how could I not indulge in every Rice Crispy Mickey, Dole Whip, and Schoobread that I can stuff into my face?

Its funny, but my husband and I plan these Disney trips around the food, and it isn’t coincidental that we are arriving the first day of the annual Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT…Life is really good for 7 days!

So back to the nuts. The South Beach Diet says you are not supposed to have carbs for 2 weeks (I am on day 5), but you can have nuts for a snack. Great. However, you are only limited to 15 nuts a day. Not so great.

The thing about nuts is I do not buy them very often. They can be pretty expensive if you gobble them up like I do. SO when the diet plan says I can have nuts, its the first thing I put in my shopping cart.

The bad thing is I just sat and ate the whole can of mixed nuts and now I feel pretty bad about cheating…but techinaclly I didn’t cheat because these nuts weren’t a “true” carb. At least that is what I am telling myself.

I guess if I do not lose any weight in the next month, I’ll know those nuts are to blame ;)

Here are some pics of those yummy treats at Disney that I am looking forward to…

The BEST Treat EVER!! Schoolbread from Norway

My New Stroller is Here!!

The new stroller arrived today and I practically jumped out of bed in excitement when the doorbell rang by the UPS man! Sad I know…

Anyway here it is, the Maclaren Volo in Salmon and I think I got a great deal at only $74.99 shipped! (Please say I did)

So far I LOVE it! Now all I need it the organizer and we’ll be ready for Disney World!
