2009 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival

in Disney World

Every year we go to Disney World for my birthday, and this year was no exception. I am pretty lucky because my birthday is right around the opening weekend of the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival. This year the festival runs from March 18, 2009 – May 31, 2009.

The theme of this year’s festival is “Celebrate Spring” and it couldn’t have been more fitting with the perfect weather we had, followed by all the beautiful flowers and topiaries.

As you enter the park you are greeted with “Cinderellabration”, where 4 different princesses are on display-

The topiaries this year are amazing! I believe there are approximately 65 character topiaries on display this year.

First we made our way to the garden my daughter and I were most excited about, the Pixie Hollow Fairy Garden.

This is the most ADORABLE set up for children, especially for ages 2-5, as there is a play structure in the back of the garden where children can play.

All 5 fairies from the Tinkerbell Movie can be found in the garden.

The garden path is lined with Pixie Dust!

Right next to the Pixie Hollow Fairy Garden is Minnie’s Magnificent Butterfly Garden – a favorite of ours from last year.

After the butterfly garden we did a little bit of exploring and stumbled upon a ton of other toparies.

After a few hours of exploring, it was almost time for the Flower Power Concert Series. Tonight’s special performer was Davy Jones from The Monkees.

Here is the schedule for upcoming concerts for the rest of the Flower & Garden Festival:

After the concert we had dinner for my birthday at one of my favorite Epcot restaurants, Tokyo Dining.

Overall it was a GREAT day, and a great Birthday! We should be back in May to see all the exhibits we missed for my husband’s birthday.

I can’t wait!
