I’m going to be honest, its been awhile since I’ve stayed at a Best Western. I do have fond memories of summer road trips up the east coast to New Jersey and Pennsylvania that included overnight stays at Best Western Inns. As a kid, it was so much fun staying at these properties–especially after two days in a car. I was recently reintroduced to Best Western through a series of ‘Indie Films’  featuring independent Best Western hotel owners across the country.

Something I didn’t know– Best Westerns are actually individually owned and operated.

After I learned this little fact, the Best Western Indie Films’ became really fascinating. It was so interesting to see how different owners from different parts of the country ran their business. While every hotel is under the umbrella of the Best Western brand, each is uniquely different. The owners actually get to choose how their Best Western looks and feels based on the surroundings of the location.

A few of my favorites:

Jim Cosgrove, Paradise, Pennsylvania (I’m pretty sure I’ve stayed here)

Bill O’Connell, Anaheim, California

I’m planning a little road trip this summer, and a stay at a Best Western is definitely on my to-do list. The Best Western Indie Films gave me a little insight to what makes this brand unique, and I can’t wait to rediscover the hotel chain with my family.

I received a Best Western travel card for sharing this information. All opinions are my own.
