Getting a jump start on those New Year’s Resolutions with Pledge (Giveaway)

I am already trying to get a kick start on those New Year’s Resolutions by spending more time cleaning around the house. Thankfully, Family Review Network and Pledge sent me a can of Pledge Natural Beauty Furniture Polish just in time.

For whatever reason, I usually do not buy furniture polish- although we have a fair amount of wood furnishings in our home. Using Pledge Natural Beauty was a new experience for me.

Since receiving my can of Pledge Natural Beauty, I have been using it to clean and polish our wood dining room table. I can honestly say, even after the first use, it has NEVER looked shinier.

I have no clue why I haven’t purchased furniture polish before, it really does bring out the shine. The consistency is not waxy, and didn’t leave any buildup on the wood.

I was VERY happy to see that Pledge furniture polish removes up to 84% of allergens in dust. I have some CRAZY allergies so I am hoping this will help alleviate some of them.

Another thing I was pleasantly surprised to see is that Pledge can also be used on stainless steel, leather, marble, and granite. I have yet to try it on granite, but that is next on my to-do list. It seems like I am always looking for a product to clean our granite kitchen counter tops.

So far, so good and I am loving the shine I now have on some of our finished wood pieces.

You can WIN your very own can of Natural Beauty Pledge and get a jump start on cleaning your home just by entering a comment below.

Winner will be chosen randomly on Friday, January 2nd 2009.

“This post was written for Family Review Network as part of a program by SC Johnson, who also supplied the product for review and giveaway.”

Frugal Tip: Splitting and Freezing Meals

Published by admin under Money Saving Mommy

In my pursuit of saving more money I have started doing something I don’t normally do. cook. at home.

Yep, this past week I made my very first roast. It came out so well that I cooked another one. 2 in one week!

Chuck Roast - $5.50 (after coupon)
Baby Carrots - $.50 (after coupon)
Bag of Onions - $1.99
Mashed Potatoes - Free with coupon

I have made 2 meals out of this by cutting the 2 1/2lbs. meat in half.

Per meal, I used half a bag of baby carrots and 1 onion along with the meat. I added red wine and a little water to add some flavor. It was delicious! Potatoes were on the side.

The second half of the meat I vacuum sealed with my food saver with another onion and the rest of the carrots and stuck in the freezer.

I now have an extra meal to put in the oven or crock pot whenever I need it! In total each meal would cost less than $5!

From now on I plan to make double, or split in half most dinners and start sealing and freezing them.
