Harry Potter Coming to Universal Orlando

My family is on the edge of their seats waiting for the opening of the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando.

The opening is set as “Spring 2010″, which is pretty vague. That could be anytime in the next month to as far out as early May.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter isn’t a new theme park, it’s an addition to Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park. The new world will feature 3 attractions, a shopping and dining center and of course, Hogwarts Castle.

I really think this is huge for the Universal Orlando. I have been to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, but my husband and daughter have not.  It’s going to be a whole new experience for us as a family. We are big time Harry Potter fans, so it should be interesting to see how the new addition to Islands of Adventure pans out. I am most excited to see how closely the world resembles the Harry Potter movies and I’m really curious to try the butterbeer.

The Universal Orlando website recently updated The Wizarding World of Harry Potter website with a more interactive map, which includes a flying tour of the new world and some shopping and dining info. The website is beautifully done and just makes me even more excited for the opening. Take a look.

During the first half of the Super Bowl, a new Harry Potter  commercial set to debut. The spot features Harry Potter and two children who get a glimpse of the excitement guests can expect to experience when they visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Are you excited about the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando?
