Palm Pre Plus: The Camera

I just want to take a minute to talk about the camera on my new Palm Pre Plus.

I have a regular size digital camera that I take with my just about everywhere. It’s the one I take most of my pictures with on this blog. I actually used to tell my husband how useless camera phones were because in general, they take low quality pictures compared to a digital camera. I really didn’t get why so many people were always taking pictures on their phones. I heard that in England everyone uses their mobile phone to take pictures, it’s far more common than using a camera. I always liked the feel of a real camera, I thought it felt weird taking pictures using a small phone. So other than the occasional twitpic, I never used my digital camera on my other phone.

Then came the Palm Pre Plus.

I went to the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival this weekend and was taking some photos of my daughter at the Princess Tiana display. For some reason I couldn’t get the lighting I wanted with my point and shoot. I decided to test out the Palm Pre Plus, and sure enough…I got a great shot! Surprisingly better lighting than my digital.

Here is the photo-

I think it came out nice, definitely usable, and made a great background for my phone :)

Of course I realize these are not DSLR quality pictures, but in a pinch, the Palm Pre Plus camera delivers.

This is great for the mom on the go who didn’t bring her camera and doesn’t want to miss a shot. :)

I received a new Palm Pre Plus Smartphone and 1 month’s service and data plan for participating in the program through Verizon. All opinions are my own and I am not being compensated in any other way.

Hey there. Have you tried printing the pictures after transferring them (how?) to the computer? I wonder bc this phone is def a contender for me with my upcoming upgrade :) but I really like micro sd cards, and this one doesn’t use one!

Thanks for any help you may have!
