This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of St Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches, Florida. All opinions are 100% mine.
Being a native Floridian, I have traveled all over the state. One of the few places that I haven’t been, I’m almost ashamed to say, is St. Augustine.
St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra and the beaches are known for their history and charm. While a popular destination for family travel, St. Augustine is also the perfect location for a romantic getaway.
As my wedding anniversary approaches, I am considering a surprise weekend retreat with my hubby to St. Augustine.
I’ve been checking out www.romanceliveshere.com and I’m trying to decide between a hotel or a bed & breakfast. While I think the B&B’s are cute…I’m not sure my husband would agree and would probably go with the Hilton St. Augustine Historic Bayfront for our accommodations.
I think it would be fun to spend a day exploring St. George Street, Old St. Augustine Village and the Colonial Spanish Quarter. Maybe even a picnic at Fort Matanzas. In the evening we could take a horse drawn carriage ride back to the hotel before dinner and then, maybe, a haunted ghost tour. ::spooky::
The next day we would relax on the beaches of Ponte Vedra.
I think is sounds like a plan…now to get it all together!

I’ve never been to St. Augustine. But I think your plan is great except for the haunted ghost tour. Riding a horse drawn carriage is also very romantic.
