The American Idol Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The new American Idol Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is now officially open!

The new attraction captures the energy and excitement of the television series and brings it to life right in front of your eyes.

Not only can you enjoy the performances at the American Idol Experience and vote for your favorite, but you can also audition to be in the spotlight.

Guests 14 and older who wish to audition for the daily Idol show(s) go through an audition process similar to the real American Idol auditions.

Guests will sing a Capella for a Disney casting director and then proceed to round 2 if selected. From there they choose another song from a selected list and then perform in front of a Disney show producer. If they make the cut they will get to perform live on stage later in the day, but first will receive some coaching and even hair and makeup! Then its showtime!

There are a total of 7 shows a day- 6 regular shows and then a grand finale in which 1 winner is selected for the entire day. This winner gets a “Dream Ticket” which will score them a front-of-the-line audition at a regional American Idol audition for a future show.

*Dream Ticket recipients must satisfy AMERICAN IDOL TV program requirements in effect at time of use, such as age and residency (Season 8 – only ages 16-28 and U.S. citizens or legal permanent U.S. residents eligible to work full-time in U.S.). Dream Ticket does not include travel, meals, lodging or other expenses.

If you choose not to audition you still get to be apart of the action by voting for your favorite idol during one of the shows.

Since I was lucky enough to attend the American Idol Experience World Premiere I have already seen the show and experienced everything first hand.

In my opinion, this will probably be the most popular attraction that Disney has ever brought to life.

Everything from the stage, the lights, the host, and even the judges is a production on a grand scale. You cannot help but to feel like you are really watching a live taping of American Idol. The talent is also amazing! This is one show you will have to experience for yourself to really believe. Disney has gone above and beyond in this attraction and I guarantee this is going to be a HUGE hit with everyone.
