My 5 tips for getting my child to bed:
1. Warm bath before bedtime – this always works like a charm
2. No naps during the day
3. Eating a full meal – sounds silly, but I notice when my daughter eats a good, solid meal she gets to bed quicker
4. TV for only a limited amount of time, then lights out
5. A good book – story time always makes my daughter sleepy
I am pretty lucky my daughter doesn’t get out of bed to much, once she is asleep, she’s asleep. If she does try to get out of bed during the holidays, I use the old “elf on a shelf” trick…he is always watching
