VTech MobiGo Review & Giveaway (Ended)

We received the brand new, soon to be released, MobiGo from VTech and it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. Summer is here, school is out- for us, that means vacation and a ROAD TRIP! These are the times mobile gaming units come in handy the most.

Of course, my daughter couldn’t resist testing out the MobiGo before we left In fact, she has been hooked on it all week.

What makes the VTech MobiGo unique from other hand held learning systems for kids aged 3-7 is it’s touch screen.

My daughter, who just turned 6, found the MobiGo easy to use right out of the box. I think the way technology is these days, kids naturally want to touch the screen and this system makes it extremely easy even for the youngest players.

Since MobiGo is brand new on the market we were limited to playing the “Touch & Learn” game that came with the system.  Unlike most of the other VTech handheld devices, MobiGo has it’s own set of games and is not compatible with any of the Smartridges. There are currently 11 games that are set to be released (with more in the future) which retail for $19.99 each. All feature your child’s favorite characters, including:

I love how VTech manages to make education fun, even for an older child.  MobiGo teaches a wide range of skills including math, vocabulary, spelling, logic and categorization. The slide open QWERTY keyboard introduces older kids to text typing skills too.

Another feature I think we are going to love (haven’t been able to use it yet) is the downloadable content. MobiGo is web-enabled and in the future, we will be able to download new games and updates.

Beginning June 7, MobiGo will be available exclusively at Toys R Us stores and online. It will hit other store shelves sometime in August. Retail price is $59.99 and comes with 1 game and USB cable. Requires 4 AA batteries which are not included.
