Last week I shared a very powerful video from Lean Cuisine, that completely changes the way I look at "weight" and "the number" I read on the scale. Here it is again if you missed it the first time around.
Incredible, right?
This video made me realize that I'm not defined by my weight. I do think it's important to stay healthy — but obsessively worrying about a number is not the way to do it. If I'm going to weigh myself, I want to weigh the things that really matter in my life. And I'm not alone. Many of my great readers responded with what they would rather be weighed on. Here's just a sampling.
"Love this, I'm most proud of everything I've survived. I’ve been through a lot so that makes me happy that I’m still standing." - Raijean
"My son of course! It’s always a great idea to focus on the things that REALLY matter!" - Amber
"I want to be weighed by my smile. It’s pretty big!" - Anne
"I am proud of my family. My five daughters are smart, funny, kind and beautiful inside and out. My husband emigrated to the US 25 years ago with $300 in his pocket and has worked his way up to manage a very prestigious country club." - Kate
"I am most proud of our girls… but also of a solo trip I took with them. I went alone with very short notice to England with our two girls for a 17 day adventure. No lodging or transportation booked ahead of time… an amazing adventure full of memories." - Kristi
We all have something that we're proud of— Whether it's motherhood, family, reaching career goals or traveling the world, these are the people and things that are important in our lives.
The next time you go to step on a scale, think about what you're most proud of. I would venture to guess that the number becomes far less meaningless.

I think this is a really cool campaign and I think the video in your post is very inspiring. I'd like to be weighed by my integrity.
Stacie @ Divine Lifestyle
The only thing that matters in life is what we do to people or for people. Everything else is just shallow and petty nit picking.
Shop with Me Mama (Kim)
Such a wonderful and inspirational campaign, I just love it! I want people to see me for me and not for anything else.I am so sick of judging before you know anyone :/
Pam
I think it is very important not to let our weight define who we are. It's what we do with our life that matters.
Jeanine
This campaign is wonderful. I don't weigh anyone by their looks, or appearance. I let them speak for themselves, and I'd hope others would for me as well!
Catherine S
What a great campaign. I want people to judge me based off of what is on the inside and not the outside.
Lindsey @ Redhead Baby Mama
I would want to be weighed in the happiness of my family. That would be a heavy load I would always been willing to carry.
Marcie W.
I am to be remembered for being selfless when it comes to my children and always putting their needs ahead of mine. I suppose so long as THEY realize that someday, nothing else matters.
Angela
I love this commercial, it is so true. We put so much value that really doesn't deserve it, what will really matter at the end of our life?
Veronica
It doesn't matter what people weigh me as. just always do the right thing and live a life of integrity and purpose
Sabrina @ Dinner, then Dessert
I love taking the focus off the scale. Kudos to Lean Cuisine for being kind about how we feel about weight-y issues!
Christie
It's so easy to focus on the superficial in life. So glad Lean Cuisine is looking at the heart of weighing in!
Debbie Denny
My family and health really matter. Numbers on a scale doesnt bother me.
Crystal
How fun! I love reading the comments and seeing how diverse the responses were. We all have things to be proud of, and the fact that those things are unique makes us special.
Theresa
I'd like to be weighed by my compassion and kindness. I think those numbers would be pretty big 🙂
Liz Mays
I definitely like the idea of removing a person's weight from the equation. People are much more than their physical appearance.
Beth@FrugalFroggie
Very important message. What great thought provoking comments.
Camesha | Mama Motivator
What a great message. I only step on a scale when I'm at the doctor. I don't own one so I'm not tempted to just check. There are so many other things to focus on - good things. 🙂
Ora Lee Gurr
I think being kind to and helping others is a much more important thing to weigh. Deep down, I would like my former students to think of me with a smile when they open a book and can read it.
Amber C
What a great campaign!! Especially while pregnant its sometimes hard to get past what I look like and focus on more of why I look like that. Because I am growing a beautiful unique human!
Candy O
This is so true. I'm so glad I read your post today. Focus on the good things 🙂
Chasing Joy
This is awesome. I'd rather be weighted by how I have taken care of my parents.
Raijean
I love this campaign, it makes you stop and think about the little things. Great job Lean Cuisine.
Latoicha
I want to be weighed by how much I help others.
