Jack-O-Lantern Cupcakes Recipe for Halloween

Ingredients

  • 1 box cake mix + required oil and eggs
  • 1 container white frosting
  • Green gummy candy to create leaves I used Jolly Rancher Sour Bites Gummies - the green apple worked perfectly cut in half with kitchen scissors and shaped into a leaf by hand
  • Thin pretzel sticks broken in half
  • Orange food coloring
  • Black decorating icing

Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake cupcakes according to box mix directions. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.
  2. Mix orange food coloring into frosting until desired shade is reached.
  3. Frost each cupcake using a thin layer. Place a pretzel stick half into the top (front) of the pumpkin cupcake to create the stem. Place a gummy leaf next to the stem.
  4. Draw on a jack-o-lantern face with the black decorating icing.
