When asked the question, “What is the one thing in life that you haven’t tried, but would love to?”, my mind races. There are so many things in life that I would love to do. I want to take my daughter to Paris. Kiss the Blarney Stone. Run a marathon. Have another baby. My list could go on and on. And hopefully, I have quite a life ahead of me to try these things. But, believe it or not, to answer the question, I come back to not something I want to try, but something my mother wants to try. In my mom’s 58 years, she has never flown on a plane. That sounds crazy since she has a daughter who loves to travel! The thing is, it is something she has wanted to do for awhile. Don’t get me wrong, she’s scared–but willing! We’ve tossed the idea around on where she would like to go on her first “trip” and for one reason or another–usually finances– it remains just an idea. It would make me so happy to make this a reality for her. So there you have it, the one thing I would love to try, is to get my mom on a plane.
The reason this question comes in to play is because The Divine Miss Mommy is hosting a giveaway (of sorts) where the blogger and a guest will win a trip to Miami, including airfare, to attend a P&G media event. My mom and I are no strangers to P&G products. I swear by Pantene, and my mom has used Olay since I was a kid. We would be like kids in a candy store checking out the newest products from P&G at the “Have You Tried This Yet?” event. I know I’m really interested in trying Pantene’s Medium-Thick: “Smooth into the 2nd Day” and CoverGirl LashBlash Fusion. The trip also comes with a VIP makeover, which my mom totally deserves. For the first time in her life she is all alone (my sister and I are out of the house) and she could use the encouragement to make her feel beautiful- because she is! The trip would be a great chance to spend time together–we’ve never done a mother/daughter trip–and give her the opportunity to try something she has never done before…FLY!
Gosh, now I pray she doesn’t read this.
I love you mom.
