Traditional Sour Cream Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350-degrees.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter until smooth.
  3. Beat in one egg at a time.
  4. Mix flour and baking soda. Add a small amount at a time to mixing bowl — continue to beat.
  5. Gently stir in sour cream, just enough to mix.
  6. Pour batter into a greased and floured bundt pan.
  7. Bake for one hour. Do not open the oven door to check until the last few minutes of baking.
  8. Test with a knife in the middle. If it comes out clean it is done, if not bake for another ten to fifteen minutes.
  9. Serve plain, with strawberries or fruit ambrosia.
