July is National Blueberry Month. The blueberry is a complex fruit, but delicious fruit. Depending on the variety they can be sweet or tart, and used in everything from sugary desserts to spicy jams, compotes and even in cocktails muddled with mint.
When I was a young girl I was allergic to the tiny blueberry, but, thankfully, it was an allergy that I outgrew. Now blueberries are one of my favorite berries, even trumping strawberries.
