Every once in awhile I have the urge to bake homemade bread. I’m going to be honest, it’s not a feat that I tackle often, but when I do, the results are usually deliciousรขโฌโ which makes me wonder WHY I don’t bake bread regularly. Here’s one of the recipes I use for a sweet Cinnamon Swirl Bread that can be served at breakfast, brunch or as a snack or dessert. I personally enjoy this quick bread with a cup of hot tea in the morning.

Cinnamon Swirl Bread Recipe
Ingredients
Bread Mix:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Cinnamon Swirl:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tsp cinnamon
Glaze:
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tsp milk
Instructions

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.

In a seperare bowl, mix together buttermilk, egg and oil. Stir into flour mixture until blended.

Mix together cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar in small bowl.

Spray the bottom of a loaf pan with cooking spray.

Pour half of the batter into pan then sprinkle 2/3 of the cinnamon swirl mixture.

Pour remaining batter and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon swirl mixture.

Take a knife or spatula and cut through batter to swirl.

Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean (cooking times vary).

Cool for 10 minutes in pan, then remove and place bread loaf on wire rack.

Place powdered sugar in a bowl and slowly add in milk, stiring until you get to syrup consistency. Drizzle over loaf.
