M&M Christmas Cookies Recipe
Can you believe Christmas is almost here? I can't! This year just flew right by. I admit, I have a lot going on right now and planning for my favorite holiday has taken a backseat. I usually have decorations up, gifts purchased, and menus planned by this time (yes, even before Thanksgiving!).
One of the ways I plan to save time this holiday season is with Bing Smart Search. Bing's Smart Search is NOT just another search engine. In fact, there's no need to open a browser— just start typing from the Start screen or swipe from the right wherever you are in Windows 8.1.
I recently used Bing Smart Search to look for an easy recipe for homemade M&M Cookies for Christmas (they're my daughter's favorite!). I already run Windows 8.1 on my laptop, so I simply typed "M&M Cookies" on my Start Screen and a great selection of websites with recipes and photos popped up.
I loved how there were screen shots of the most relevant websites. I hate wasting time on "dud" webpages with no photos or real content. Bing Smart Search only showed me the most relevant sites and web images. If I already had a recipe saved on my computer, that would've displayed as well.
With so many yummy cookie recipes, it was hard to pick just one— I settled on a recipe with ingredients I had on hand and modified it to my needs. Ready to make some Christmas cookies?

Anyone with a PC or tablet with Windows 8.1 can use Bing’s Smart search ... give it a try and tell me what you think!

I envy people who can find a recipe using things they already have on hand. I have the worst-stocked pantry in the world. 🙂

Thanks for posting this! 🙂 I do have to say, though.. out of all the pics that Bing pulled up, your picture in this post is by far the best! Love this recipe, and how your presentation 🙂

Bing over Google any day (and a lot less rules to follow too!) I like how simple, yet yummy, M&M cookies can be.

I'm currently using my MacBook Pro but I just received a brand new HP laptop that I'm sure runs Windows 8. I look forward to trying this feature.

I think these would have been great IF the recipe and instructions were accurate. There is a discrepancy between baking soda in the ingredients and baking powder in the instructions so I went with what was in the ingredients. I am left with a pan of very flat sheet cookies...big waste of ingredients.
Stefanie Fauquet
Hi Lily, You were correct, there was an error in the instructions (which I updated). Baking soda is the correct ingredient— did you change anything else? I'm trying to figure out why they would come out flat.
Cynthia
Just made these for my daughter to present to her friends. I followed the directions to a T. They turned out flat, ugly and greasy. I went looking at other sugar cookie recipes and it seems this one is lacking the critical step of chilling the dough. What a waste of ingredients. Very disappointed.
Katie Hale
Hi Cynthia! I am so sorry that you had poor results. I reviewed the recipe and you are correct it does need to chill. I have added that to the instructions. Thank you for letting us know!
