I don’t know about you, buy my daughter and I are super excited about the upcoming release of Alice Through the Looking Glass. We’ve always been fans of the classic animated Alice in Wonderland, and thought the first live action feature with Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter was a fun and quirky take on the original. Johnny Depp really nails the role as the Mad Hatter, and we’re ready for his return the the big screen on May 27, 2016.
Alice Through the Looking Glass is a brand new adventure featuring the beloved characters from Lewis Carroll’s stories. In this sequel, Alice returns to the fantastical world of Underland and travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter, who has lost his “Muchness”. We’ll also be introduced to new characters, including the Mad Hatter’s father, Time himself, played by Sacha Baron Cohen. Here’s a peek at the newest trailer.
You can buy your tickets to see Alice Through the Looking Glass early through Fandango — Plus, when you become a Fandango VIP (it’s free!), you can enter to win a trip to the U.S. premiere!
To celebrate the film, I thought it would be fun to make a non-alcoholic party punch, inspired by the Mad Hatter. I’m calling it Mad Hatter Party Punch, and as the name suggests, this kid-friendly drink recipe is great for parties, so you can make a big punch bowl or jug of it to dispense to a crowd— Perhaps for an Alice-inspired get-together before going to see the film when it opens on May 27. By the way, Alice Through the Looking Glass is rated PG, so it’s a great movie for families!
Mad Hatter Party Punch Recipe

- 2-liter lemon-lime soda
- 46-oz pineapple juice (this size comes in a can - I used 4½ 10oz bottles)
- Combine all liquids. Chill.
- Serve with ice.
- Optional: Rim glass with colored sugar.
