Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers
Now that Memorial Day has come and gone, I’d like to think it’s officially summer. I know we're still a month away from that date officially, but with the kids almost out of school and the heat already at a record high; it’s time to start thinking about outdoor entertaining and all of the other fun things that come with the season.
We’re lucky enough to live in a neighborhood with a community pool that often hosts summertime get-togethers. Each family brings a small dish or appetizer and we meet up to grill and spend the afternoon or evening at the pool with our families.
My husband and I have a few different appetizers that we rotate that are always a hit, but there’s one in particular that ALWAYS gets rave reviews. The best part is that it requires just three simple ingredients: bacon, jalapenos and cream cheese. Intrigued!?

Yep. My Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers Recipe, sometimes called grasshoppers, are simply bacon-wrapped jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese. You can bake, broil or grill them in minutes, and they always come out just right — a total crowd pleaser!
Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers
- 1 package Hormel BLACK LABEL® Bacon
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 10 jalapenos cut in half and seeded
-
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
-
Place cream cheese in a zippered baggie. Cut a small corner off one of then ends to create a piping bag.
-
Fill each half of jalapeno with cream cheese – don’t be afraid to load them up!
-
Trim bacon ends of excess fat, or cut bacon strips in half. Wrap 1 slice around each cream cheese stuffed jalapeno.
-
Bake in oven for 15 minutes.
-
After 15 minutes, set the oven to broil to cook for an additional 5 minutes — this step will get the bacon nice and crispy! Enjoy!
If you're making these in advance for a cookout or barbeque, simply place them back on the grill to heat up prior to serving.
I used Hormel BLACK LABEL® Bacon in this recipe because it's delicious and affordable. Hormel BLACK LABEL® Bacon features exceptional varieties that never compromise on quality or taste. This includes traditional bacon varieties, fully cooked bacon, thick-cut bacon & Canadian bacon.
