Please note that this post was originally written in 2008. I now have no interest in Kate Gosselin.
I watch Jon and Kate Plus 8 all the time, but I have to admit as time goes on I have began to hate really dislike Kate Gosselin more and more.
1. First and foremost Kate expects everything to be given to them for free, and though she gets everything, she is completely ungrateful.
2. Kate kicks Aunt Jodie off the show because she doesn’t want her getting paid for her appearances. Kate is only happy when Kate is the only one getting paid. It didn’t help that viewers liked Aunt Jody and Kate thought she made her look bad.
3. Kate is so sketchy on her fertility issues. Since I have PCOS and am undergoing fertility treatments I know a little something about this. No reputable Dr. would have gone through with the IUI with proper monitoring. Not to mention the fact that if you’re giving yourself the potential to be responsible for 8 new human beings, you should be required to get a degree in social work, or at least be required to pass How Not To Exploit Your Child (101) with a grade of “C” or higher.
4. Pretends to eat only organic food when it is obvious she doesn’t.
5. Consigns all her free clothes for the kiddos. Wouldn’t it be nice to donate something back instead of having to make money off something you got for free?
6. Seriously needs to get on medication for her OCD.
7. Claims the tups have no colleges funds set up on her website when the Governor of Pennsylvania gifted this back in 2005.
8. Obviously favors the girls over the boys.
9. Who doesn’t let their kids eat the cupcakes they made for their birthday?
10. Charging $20 CASH at their appearances for autographed pictures with the kids. This is in addition to the “Love Offerings” that are collected and the now $25,000 appearance fee they require to speak at churches and other events.
11. Treats Jon like he is a child.
12. Complains about cleanliness but leaves pee in the potty chairs all over the house.
13. Has made comments like, “society has a responsibility to help with the children, since modern medicine promotes the use of fertility drugs, which can lead to multiple births”.
Get ready for next season when Jon and Kate renew their vows in Hawaii and move into their million dollar 8,000 sf home in North Carolina who knows where :::eye roll::
Edited to add: I do not fault the Gosselins for accepting freebies and getting paid gigs, my #1 complaint is Kate’s attitude and ungratefulness that has resulted from this. It seems now she has come to expect everything to be handed to her, and really has that I am better than you attitude.

Oh no, that show was NEVER about the kids, that show was about Kate, and what Kate could get, and how fast Kate could get it. John stupidly went along with it, got caught up in the money part of it, then they decided they could afford million dollar homes, and poof, it’s all gone. Now America, feel sorry for poor little me. Please help me out while I continue to live in big house which I have to have becasue I have 8 children. 8 I tell you!!! Now why didn’t they just make sure they had a home big enough, and put some money aside to ensure they could pay any bills that came their way and maybe, just maybe, put some of that money in accounts for the kids, since the show was all about them. Funny how that works, the show is about the kids and and mom and dad spend what they make off of it.

Kate Gosselin is a waste of space. She is condescending, a craptastic mother and an opportunist. Her first and most important priority should be those kids, not trying to promote herself. She spends more time on the cover of magazines than she does with her own children. Especially now, during her divorce with Jon, I would have thought she would want to promote a healthy and constant presence of the “mother figure” to her children; nope, those poor kids have to settle for mommy on the boob-tube. I’m tired of seeing her face and really am ready for the media to file her in their “15 Minutes Up” folder.

Kate Gosselin is a joke. She is annoying, fake, selfish, attention hungry, and a not so good mother. I think she had this all planned out from day one. Trying to get pregnant and having multiples, in a sceme to get rich and famous, and unfortunately for the kids, but fortunately for her it worked. But I am firm believer in karma, and it will all come back to bite her in her ugly ass. All she cares about is HER fame and fortune and her kids have to suffer in the process. I saw a pic of her on Easter, standing there in this pose, (like she was a model, but so not) in high high heels, and her fake ass hair. I wanted to throw up!!!!! She really needs to have all t.v rights stripped from her. Please America STOP giving her the attention and satisfaction! i don’t blame jon for cheating, he probably hadn’t gotten any since the babies were born, she got what she wanted from him, and he was tired of being her little bitch! I cannot agree more with your reasons to hate Kate Goesslin. I would like to add another. This is a woman who claims to love her children and put them before anything else. However, her actions seem to suggest her fame comes before everything else including her children. Every time I turn on the television she is in some television studio giving interviews, shooting a television show, or posing for publicity shots. Now that she has finally been voted off DWTS, she is about to begin shooting her new tv show where she travels across the country giving other people advice on parenting. That might make sense if she were actually parenting. Instead her children are being raised by nannies. I would never fault a person for working to make money for their family, but Kate has a ton of money, why is she taking jobs that take her away from her kids? She was paid $75,000 per episode for Jon & Kate Plus 8, she is paid tens of thousands of dollars for her appearances, interviews etc… she was paid 2 million for her book deal, who knows how much for DWTS, and just about everything is given to her. Why then, does she keep taking jobs that take her away from her kids? Not to mention the time it must take for her fake hair, fake tan, fake nails, and stylists, publcists, agents and manager appointments. Most people don’t make this amount of money in a lifetime and many have just as many kids to raise. No, I don’t feel sorry for Kate. I feel sorry for her kids who are being raised by their parents in between their public engagements and quests for fame.
The point is, she doesn’t have money becasue she is busy spending it on a lavish lifestyle for HERSELF. She has to pay the nannys, the hairstylist, the excerise coaches, the bodyguards– sniker — the personal assistants, and on and on. It cost money to to make money, and it cost even more to look fablous, she would say as she puts the back of her hand to her forehead.
Her telling someone how to raise kids is about like hiring a child molester to teach you how to hold a pre-school class.
Her day will come, as they say, what goes around comes around. Just wish she wasn’t going around in my face all the time.

I agree with all of your reasons. I never really post on blogs, but I will post on this one! Kate gossilin is a opportunist and is pretty much money/fame hungry. How the hell does this chick have so much time to do TV spots, interviews and other things while she has 8 kids.Hell, it’s hard enough taking care of 3 children, let alone 8! I have 2 little boys under 3 and I barely have time to go out to go groccery shopping , let alone any kind of trips But honestly, I want to raise my kids not nannies, and such. I agree with you all. Kate Gosselin’s appearance has changed drastically since her young mother days. She goes out of her way to flaunt a skimpy bikini – overflowing boobs, hanging butt and all. She is high maintenance now – tanning beds, spa treatments, manicures, new clothes and shoes, etc. And she walks around talking to the bodyguard dressed this way?! Man I take Kate over my wife any day or life times. At least she does a few things to make things work. My wife does nothing but play around and dump her kids at home. My biggest issue with Jon and Kate is that the whole reason they do the show is for money, and we all know it. I think in one episode Kate said they did it to ease people’s curiosity, or some BS like that. But it only took a few months for her to quit her job.
They could have done perfectly fine money-wise on their own. Jon had a good job, and Kate was a part-time nurse. They wouldn’t have been able to afford a million dollar house, but they would have been able to give their kids all the necessities.
Kate doesn’t even raise the kids anymore, their nannies do. I just can’t wait until she has to pay for all their psychiatrist appointments because of the damage the show has done to them.
And oh my goodness, 8 kids?! Big families were a common thing just a few decades ago. I don’t understand everyone’s fascination with them.
I used to watch Jon and Kate plus 8. I loved the children and thought Jon was a wonderful Father. I never liked Kate from the start. I remember thinking she was so crazy and controlling that her children would grow up to despise her. I recall one episode where she found a piece of a small toy upstairs in the childrens bedrooms and went on a rampage ( the children were not allowed to have toys anywhere except the basement). She stood there screaming at those children and they looked so terrified. She didnt stop til they were in tears. All because a 3 year old took a toy in their room. I stopped watching the show when Jon left. I wish everyone would stop watching the show so the ratings will drop and it would be canceled. I `ve stopped watching TLC all together. I `m sick of the way they treat Kate as if she were a goddess. I cant believe all the attention she gets from tv, media, magazines, while Jon and the children are forgotten. i hope this new talkshow Kates getting will flop. It will be a happy day in the world when we see the last of Kate Gosslin. I just feel very bad for the children.

I just feel bad for the kids, their, mom is whacky and their dad split, they need a family not all that money. I know a few people with lots of kids and they work really hard to keep a roof over their heads and rely on family and community to reinforce loving values.

All I can say is hopefully she goes away and we never have to see or hear anything from her again. I used to watch the show when Jon was on. I told my husband that they were going to wind up divorced because of the way she treated him. As soon as Jon left, I stopped watching. Those children are not even going to know what “real life” is. It is not normal to have a camera stuck in your face during “real life”. It’s is just extremely odd that a mother would want to subject her children to such a weird way of life. I feel sorry for the kids. Their only hope is for their father to get custody of them.
I have two comments that I would like to make!
First of all, everyone who villainizes Jon, you can give him credit for one thing: He never hit that CRAZY BITCH! This man was put down and berated by Kate on an ongoing basis, and he NEVER threatened her in any way; I would NEVER say that a woman DESERVES to be hit, but she tows the line!
Secondly, why does TLC spend the money they do on Kate and her kids? They have been all over the world, and I know damn well that SHE is not paying for it! She seems to think that she doesn’t deserve to pay for anything!
I also watch 19 kids and counting. I love this TV show. I have NEVER seen any family quite like this one. THEY TAKE CARE OF THEIR OWN, which is rare, nowadays! People criticize them for having so many children, and I never could figure out why. As long as I’m not supporting them, I don’t care at all about how many children that they have. They support their kids through numerous commercial properties that they own and rent out, just so you know. Why doesn’t TLC give this family, at the very least, a trip to Disney World or something; I am incensed that Kate and her brood gets the luxury vacations (including a wedding vow renewal which turned out to be a complete LIE). Maybe the Duggar family are too proud to receive any “extras” TLC has offered them. Kate has no shame; she seems to think that EVERYBODY owes her something and I am here to tell you, Kate, that maybe you need to watch the Duggar’s show where their siblings all get along with each other; you could use some parenting classes as well, as you are a poor excuse for a mother. Your stupid show’s damage is starting to show with your own kids: I heard that Alexis and Colin were EXPELLED for fighting and disrespecting authority; gee, I wonder where they learned that from! The other kids, I have also heard, are having behavioral problems, which YOU LIED ABOUT ON NATIONAL TV! AND YOU SUCK AS A DANCER, TOO! How’s it feel to not have NO FAMILY and NO FRIENDS, only 8 kids who don’t always like you, either? You’re a low-life piece of shit!
You all need to stop hating on her! Do you know her personally? No you don’t! You don’t know her true and real reasons for why she does things. If she’s such a wasted space as you all are saying, then why even take the time to write a blog about her or to even comment! She never said that society owes her that was a misprint and they have said that over and over again! People say they hate her yet they still watch her show! She chose not to abort the other embryos that’s why she had 6! Just because she has different views and beliefs than other people, that doesn’t make her a bad person! And if you were offered finacial stability by a tv network you all know you would take it! So if you really all hate her then stop talking about her and move on! Its sickening to see people rant and rave about someone because they are a reality star. I have read all of her books and I have respect for her. Yes she may seem very blunt and she may do and say some questionable things but that’s because it was a true reality show! She didn’t cover up things and she let them film everything. She cose not to edit things out because she wanted all of her viewers to see how life like that really is. And those reasons for not liking her are really lame! How do you know she doesn’t eat organic always? Are you her chef do you live with her? Didn’t think so! So I think you all need to get on with your lives. You say she’s a waste of time yet your all taking time to read all the posts and cooment! Hypocritical if you ask me!
