My family has watched SING about a dozen times now, and the movie still hasn’t gotten old! We got a copy as soon as it was available on Digital HD, and it quickly became one of our faves for family movie night.
Now that SING Special Edition on Blu-ray & DVD is in stores, I thought I would host a SING family movie night with my niece and nephew— And no surprise, THEY LOVED IT!

SING Special Edition Is Now Out on Blu-ray &Â DVD!
If you haven’t heard, SING is the newest animated comedy from Illumination Entertainment, the same studio that brought us The Secret Life of Pets.
SING stars Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon, an eternally optimistic koala who puts on the world’s greatest singing competition to save his crumbling theater; winner Reese Witherspoon as Rosita, an overworked and underappreciated mother of 25 piglets desperate to unleash her inner diva; Scarlett Johansson as Ash, a punk rock porcupine with a beautiful voice behind her prickly exterior; and Taron Egerton as Johnny, a young gangster gorilla looking to break free of his family’s felonies.

At first, my nephew was mesmerized with the characters, especially Buster Moon, Rosita, Gunter and Ash— he literally stood in awe in front of the TV for the first half of the movie. By the end, he and his sister were jumping around, dancing to the songs— I wouldn’t be surprised if they knew all the lyrics by next week!Â
I can almost guarantee that my niece and nephew will be singing and dancing to SING on repeat for the foreseeable future!

Movie Night Popcorn Candy Mix Recipe
- 1 bag microwave popcorn
- 1 handful chocolate candies
- 1 chocolate chip granola bar chopped
- 1 peanut butter granola bar chopped
- 1 handful gummy candy
- 1 tablespoon rainbow nonpareils

Pop microwave. Empty in a large bowl.

Put the rest of the ingredients in a paper bag. Shake to combine.

Add mixture to bowl of popcorn. Enjoy during family movie night!
