- 2 packages chocolate almond bark
- 1 package white chocolate almond bark
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 15 peppermint candies (individually wrapped)
How to Make Chocolate Peppermint Candy
- Line 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper. Be sure to have enough extra to fold over the sides so that you can lift candy out after it has a chance to set.
- In microwave, melt 10 blocks of the dark chocolate almond bark in one-minute increments. Stir each time you check to see if it's melted (it will probably take 2-3 minutes). Pour melted chocolate into parchment lined pan. Let set till thoroughly cooled (a couple of hours will do it).
- In microwave, melt 10 blocks of the white chocolate almond bark in one-minute increments until melted. Stir each time you check it. When chocolate is melted stir in peppermint extract and then pour over cooled dark chocolate in your pan. Let set till thoroughly cooled.
- Place peppermint candies into a zipper bag and break into smaller chunks with a meat tenderizing hammer. You can make the chunks as large or small as you like.
- Meanwhile, melt 5 squares of the dark chocolate almond bark in microwave till melted. This amount should only take 1-2 minutes.
- Pour melted dark chocolate over the white chocolate layer and sprinkle top with crushed peppermint candy. Set aside to let cool thoroughly.
- When candy is set, lift it out of the pan by holding on to the parchment paper. Carefully remove parchment paper from bottom and sides of candy.
- To cut candy, put it on a solid cutting board and cut with a very long knife so that you can make a single cut (you don't want to have to lift the knife out of the candy to finish the cut because that increases the chance that your candy will begin to "flake" or break into pieces. Candy is rich so smaller pieces are generally preferred. Store in an airtight bag.
