I was planning to attend the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California this weekend, but due to some last minute changes, I was unable to go. This makes me very sad. Will I ever get to Disneyland?
Even though I missed out, I’ve been following the expo closely and wanted to share some updates from the event.
Day 1 – Friday, August 19
Disney Legends Ceremony honoring Paige O’Hara (speaking & singing voice of Belle), Linda Larkin (speaking voice of Jasmine), Lea Salonga (singing voice of Jasmine & Mulan), Anika Noni Rose (speaking & singing voice of Tiana), and Jodi Benson (speaking & singing voice of Ariel).
Actor David Arquette, who voices the role of Skully on Disney Junior’s “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” kicked off Disney’s D23 Expo by helping Disney announce the donation of $500,000 and 8 million Disney Publishing Worldwide books to First Book, a national nonprofit organization that provides new books to children in need.
The Tony-nominated Rock of Ages star and American Idol Alum, Constantine Maroulis, rocked the house for the debut of the new Rock Star Mickey interactive plush from Fisher-Price and Disney. Rock Star Mickey will hit stores September 6.
Tom Staggs, chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, gives D23 Expo guests a special behind-the-scenes glimpse into some of the exciting projects currently underway at Disney parks and resorts around the world.
I will be sharing more details from the presentation in a later post, but sneak peeks of Fantasyland in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland were released, as well as renderings of the new Shanghai Disneyland “Enchanted Storybook Castle”.
John Lasseter, Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer, unveils the very first vehicle from Mattel’s CARS Super Chase Collection. The new line will debut in 2012 with one-time only, limited run die cast vehicles for the ultimate fan and collector.
John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Animation Studios, and Ronald Stroman, deputy postmaster general, unveiled the USPS Send a Hello Forever stamps inspired by Pixar characters.
