I'll be honest, here at the early edge of winter this year, I've been craving Elderberry Tea, seeking that comforting brew for all of its benefits and just its warming nature.
I don't know why I have a thing for elderberry tea in particular this year. Maybe it's just my need for a bit of comfort, maybe it's just that my tastebuds are in for it.
But it doesn't really matter.
What matters is that I love it and it's super easy to make and there's so much flavor, it's definitely a tea you need to try this winter.
So, grab your favorite mug and let's get making!
Elderberry Tea
Making Elderberry tea is a bit different than making normal tea. But don't let that intimidate you! It's easy, just different, if that makes sense.
Basically, when you make a normal cup of herbal tea like blackberry or ginger, you usually only steep the leaves for a minute or two in hot water before you want to pull them out. Then it's time to enjoy you tea, right?
But when using dried elderberries, it's a different matter. You have to allow the dried berries to simmer for about 15 minutes to make sure all of the beneficial properties are extracted to the fullest.
See? Not hard, just different. And totally worth it.
