Why travel to Central America? For a family vacation in Costa Rica, of course!
If your family has been looking for a little more adventure in their vacation, Costa Rica is the place for you.
Would your family like to experience a beautiful canopy tour or maybe you would like to go scuba diving with sharks? Are private reserves and national parks more to your liking? Maybe some serene bird or whale watching is on your “things to do list”. Costa Rica has a little something for everyone in the family.
Costa Rica vacations usually begin in San José- the country's capital. Here you can explore the land and participate in some adventure activities. There are also museums and parks to visit if adventure is not your thing. There are 26 National Parks in Costa Rica, that includes private reserves like Tortuguero National Park where you can see nesting sea turtles and over 375 species of birds. You can also get extreme and visit one of Costa Rica’s active volcanoes at Poas Volcano National Park. If good food is on the agenda, then look into the Park Café and Grano de Oro Restaurant both lauded by many international foodies and both located in the Costa Rican capital.
If water is what you crave, you will want to visit the northwest coast of Costa Rica in the Guanacaste region. Here, you will not only find some of the best beaches, but the best resorts, including Riu Guanacaste, JW Marriott Guanacaste Resort & Spa and the Hilton Papagayo Resort Costa Rica.
In Guanacaste you can bathe in hot springs, go surfing, kayak, snorkel, dive or relax on the shoreline. The resorts in this area really accommodate families. For instance, the Hilton Papagayo Resort has activities even for the littlest adventurers including a children’s pool and dolphin and turtle watching. Plus this resort even has a kids club to give parents some time of their own.
No matter what your age, there is something for everyone in Costa Rica!
