Halloween doesn’t have to be scary. It is one of our favorite holidays, and I do everything I can to bring the fun out of it! Unfortunately, when it comes to programing on TV around October 31, the options are pretty limited for kids. While my husband loves scary movies, I do not. That’s why I love the new DreamWorks Halloween DVD Party Pack featuring Scared Shrekless and Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space.
In Scared Shrekless, the gang gathers to celebrate Shrekรขโฌโขs favorite holiday: Halloween!รย But instead of the usual tricks or treats, Shrek ups the ante and challenges everyone to spend the night telling scary storiesรขโฌโthe last one to be scared Shrekless wins.รย The DVD includes spooky spoofs on classics horror movies and features the voices of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas.
Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space finds Susan, B.O.B., The Missing Link, and Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. dispatched as special operatives to investigate a mysterious alien presence on Halloween.รย As the night unravels, innocent-looking pumpkins are revealed for what they really are รขโฌโ mutant aliens!รย Luckily the monsters are there to smash the mutantsรขโฌโข wicked scheme to take over Earth. Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space features the star-studded cast of voice talent from the original hit film including Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Kiefer Sutherland and Rainn Wilson.
The Double DVD Pack also includes an all-new Shrek-ed out parody of Michael Jacksonรขโฌโขs epic music video รขโฌลThrillerรขโฌย.
We received an advanced copy to preview, which is now available in stores and online at Amazon. We were already a fan of all the Shrek films, so I knew we were going to love Scared Shrekless. It’s a really fun Halloween cartoon that captures the season like very few kids movies have in the past. There’s always focus on Shrek, Fiona and their baby ogres, but what makes this really funny is their extended family– donkey, the gingerbread man, the three little pigs, the three blind mice and the big, bad wolf! It’s fun to see this blended family share ghost stories, trying to one up each other in the “scare” department. Scared Shrekless is sure to be a classic with its great writing, characters and fun scares!
Along with the dvd pack, we received some fun treats that could be easily replicated for your own Shrek Halloween viewing party: Gummy Worms, Jelly Beans and Green Licorice can easily be transformed into Swamp Slugs, Donkey Droppings and Ogre Snot!
