If you read my blog enough, you know I love to save money. My number one shopping tip has always been to purchase whatever you need online, with coupon codes.
My mother is a prime example of someone who has heard about coupon and promo codes a thousand times, but continues to do most her shopping at brick & mortar stores. When we go out together she will point at something she likes, and I will always say, "You could get that cheaper online at --insert online retailer here--". And she just ignores me.
Finally, I had enough (who doesn't like to save money?) and I sat her down and asked her why she doesn't shop online. Her answer? -- It's too confusing to find coupon codes and deals. I, of course, knew this was ridiculous, but I also look for deals on a daily basis. I figured if she only had one website to look at (baby steps here) she wouldn't be so overwhelmed.
Since we're always looking for travel deals, I took her to a site that I frequently visit to save money on holidays using coupons. Once we were there, it was easy to search for deals by different hotels and airlines. I think this is where it finally clicked for her. In addition to travel, I also buy a lot of our heath and beauty products online to save money. By using coupon codes, it's easy to get set for holiday with all the essentials for less. When you consider how much money you spend online over the course of the year, the savings from using coupons could add up to an extra vacation!
