Now that you’ve got your family’s bags packed, tickets printed, and snacks prepared, what’s left? Activities for the kids!

Printable Activities for Your Family’s Plane Ride

Second to yummy snacks, kid-friendly activities are essential for air travel. While tablets and smartphone games have taken over as in-flight entertainment, it’s always a good idea to have a back-up in case of boredom, or the unthinkable, dead battery.

I came up with three fun Spring Break themed printables to take with you on your next family travel adventure.

These activity printables are completely free! If you have more than one child, print off multiple copies so they can play together.

Spring Break Word Search

This Spring Break Word Search is more challenging than it looks. With 12 travel words to find, it will keep your child busy for at least take-off or landing. Bring along a highlighter to make finding the words easier.

Airplane BINGO

This version of BINGO can be played solo or with the entire family. The goal is to get BINGO in any direction by matching up different actions that are found during the flight. You’ll want to pack a pencil, pen or crayon for everyone participating. The great thing about this game is that it could last the entire flight!

For younger children who love to color, this airplane coloring page is the perfect distraction. Don’t forget to bring a small box of crayons!

For long flights, in addition to these printables, it’s a good idea to take small toys that your child has never seen before. When my daughter was younger I would bring along a goodie bag with inexpensive items she enjoyed playing with which I bought specifically for the flight “just in case”. Flying is unpredictable, and if there is weather or rough air, small toys come in handy as a diversion.

What are your kids’ favorite in-flight activities?

This In-Flight Activities post was created in connection with my appointment as a contributor to Frigo® Cheese Heads®.
