I received compensation from SocialMoms an Paramount Pictures. All opinions are my own.
My family and I are BIG fans of all things science fiction. So when we heard about the new sci-fi epic, Interstellar, we put it on our "must see" list. My husband was especially excited to see that Interstellar is the newest film by director Christopher Nolan, who is also responsible for the Dark Knight trilogy.
Nolan, like with most of his projects, has kept this film under wraps for quite sometime and there are only a few people who have seen it. The film has an amazing cast featuring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Wes Bentley, Jessica Chastain, Matt Damon, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck and John Lithgow. The plot goes something like this:
In the near future Earth has been devastated by drought and famine, causing a scarcity in food and extreme changes in climate. When humanity is facing extinction, a mysterious rip in the space-time continuum is discovered, giving mankind the opportunity to widen their lifespan. A group of explorers must travel beyond our solar system in search of a planet that can sustain life. The crew of the Endurance are required to think bigger and go further than any human in history as they embark on an interstellar voyage, into the unknown.
The ambition is that Interstellar will depict a heroic voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding.

Homemade Moonsand Recipe
We love creating fun crafts and experiments at home. In anticipate for the the new film Interstellar, we're making a couple batches of colorful moonsand. This recipe is both easy & fun!
What You'll Need:
- 1 cup of cornflour
- ½ cup of water
- A large plastic container
- food coloring (optional)
Instructions:
- Mix the cornflour and water thoroughly in the container, stirring slowly for approx. 10 minutes. Add a few drops of food coloring if you want colored moonsand. Play with immediately after mixing.
I hope you have as much fun doing this experiment as my family and I have. We also can't wait to go see Interstellar this weekend and let the movie take us on an amazing journey into space and beyond.
