In the wake of recent events, I feel it’s more important than ever to make every moment count with family and friends. Every second we have is truly a gift—and it’s our job, especially as parents, to preserve these memories so that they’re passed on to our children and beyond.
As a blogger, I naturally capture my family’s memories through photography. It seems that I always have a camera in my hand wherever we go, so I have a huge database of photos from all of our travels. I’ll often look back at the pictures to see how much my daughter has grown, and smile at each snapshot in time. I’m hoping that one day she’ll be able to share these memories with her own family. Here are some of my most recent (and loved!) captures.
Even with my huge collection of digital photos, I know that I could be doing more to preserve my family’s most prized moments. We recently purchased a new house and I have plans to make a huge photo wall with canvases of our favorite prints. This way, when family and friends visit they will be able to enjoy our most special memories, and we will be able to relive them each time we pass by.
It’s fun seeing how far we’ve come as a family through these photos, and I hope that our home will showcase our happiest times together – that’s really what life is all about!
Another family who is making every moment count is the Bates family, from Bringing Up Bates on the UP Network.
While the Bates may be larger than most families (Gil and Kelly Jo have 19 children!), their values and focus on making the most of life are no different than yours or mine. With such a big family, there's always something going on-- and in the good times and bad, the Bates make the best of it and are capturing and sharing their stories with us. If you haven't tuned in, you really need to because it's REAL TV that most family's can relate to,

I shared the season premiere of Bringing Up Bates with you a few weeks ago, and now I'm back with a sneak peek of episode 3: A LOVEly Day, which airs Thursday June 16 at 9pm EST.
The whole family arrives at the Bates house to celebrate their favorite holiday, ‘I Love You Day’ AND there’s someone new at the table – Tori’s new beau! The family is happy to see Michaella and Alyssa return home, as well as Nathan’s girlfriend, Ashley, who arrives for the celebration to have a very important conversation with Kelly Jo and Gil. Later, at the family’s celebration someone in the family makes a very special announcement!
