Can a phone make your life easier?
That's the claim of the new Palm Pre Plus that I'm reviewing as part of the Palm Pre Plus Mom Blogger program from Verizon.
As I mentioned before, I will be reviewing the phone over the next 4 weeks and posting my thoughts here.
My new phone just arrived, and so far I couldn't be happier. I love the look and weight of the phone. Even with a learning curve (never used a touchscreen), I'm finding it easy to use.
I haven't dug into all the features yet (there are a ton) but I did find the Palm app store and downloaded a free twitter app...which is so much better than Twitterberry. There is a fair selection of apps that range from free to $9.99. So far I've only downloaded a few of the free ones, but they all work great and were a breeze to install. Be warned- Pandora radio is addicting!
The transition from my Blackberry has been a little easier thanks to the Palm's full keyboard in addition to the touch screen. As much as I love tapping the screen, it's easy for me to use the keyboard to type up emails, twitter or text messages. It's nice having both and sets the phone apart from the rest of the smartphones.
My favorite feature so far is the ability to multitask. I love being able to have several programs open at the same time and be able to switch back and forth seamlessly without a delay. This is something I could never have done on my old phone.
I also found out this week that the Palm Pre Plus is a Mobile Hotspot for up to 5 WIFI enabled devices. Now this is a feature I can definitely use! How often have you been somewhere and wanted to use your laptop with any WIFI? This feature requires the download of a free app; however, the service is an extra $40 a month. Still an impressive feature for the working/traveling mom.
Next week- I'm testing out the calendar and scheduling features on the Palm Pre Plus and may include a little video of the phone in action.
I received a new Palm Pre Plus Smartphone and 1 month's service and data plan for participating in the program through Verizon. All opinions are my own and I am not being compensated in any other way.

I had the Palm and it was ok... it kept tearing up so Verizon let me upgrade early to the Droid. I'm so in love. Best phone ever!!

Thanks for the low down on this phone. Communication is the key for working mums and these smart phones allow us to multitask like never before!

Our 14 year old has been begging for a phone and we are just about ready to make the jump. I see similar conversations that seem somewhat pointless to us parents with snapchat… silly faces, silly texts… That $45 plan is very attractive!
