Summer is almost here, the kids will be out of school, and then begins the talk of summer vacation. Cruising is one of my family's favorite ways to travel. It's very convenient for us living in Florida and having so many ports to choose from. I realize not everyone is so lucky, but cruise ports are popping up all over the U.S., giving cruisers more sailing options. Just off the top of my head, there are ports in Texas, South Carolina, Louisiana, California, Washington, New York and New Jersey.
One of my favorite itineraries -- that I have yet to sail to-- is Bermuda. Bermuda is known for its pink sand beaches and crystal blue water. It's a great destination for families looking to cruise from the tri-state area. As much as I love the Caribbean, I've always wanted to see Bermuda. Maybe it's the allure of the Bermuda Triangle..
The Celebrity Summit has officially began her sailing season to Bermuda, which runs from May-September. Bermuda cruises on Celebrity depart from Cape Liberty Port in Bayonne, NJ, for 6 and 7-night itineraries. Prices start at $499 for an inside stateroom and $949 for a veranda stateroom.
On board, families will enjoy mouth-watering cuisine, entertainment and activities ranging from culinary and beverage classes to enrichment classes and fitness classes. Children and teens can chill with new friends at the Fun Factory, where activities are geared towards them.
Once in Bermuda, families can partake in several shore excursions ranging from beach and water activities to cuisine tours and wilderness adventures.
Cruising Celebrity to Bermuda is a great way to spend a summer vacation-- not to mention, families in the northeast don't even need to step foot in a plane to get to a tropical destination.
