It's crazy to think about, but summer is right around the corner -- is it just me, or does the school year go by faster and faster each year? Once school is out, I usually scramble at the last minute to find fun activities and crafts to keep my daughter entertained when we're at home.
But this year is different. I'm planning ahead.
My plan is to use a combo of Pinterest and Factory Direct Craft to find easy and unique craft ideas and supplies.
Pinterest is a no-brainer because from the moment I click on to the site I want to make something. Other people's ideas are always better than mine. In my wildest dreams I couldn't come up with some of the ideas I find on there. The good news is, Pinterest is full of ideas and all I need is the time and supplies to make them. That's where Factory Direct Craft comes in. They have a HUGE selection of craft supplies and home decor items to make just about anything I can come up with. They also have hard to find items used for candle and soap making. I already have a list going of things I want to make with my daughter.
Summer Craft Ideas:
- Coffee Can Bird Feeder
- Homemade Play-doh
- Recycle Old Crayons to Make New Ones (in Molds)
- Homemade Soap
- Bead Necklaces
- Decorate Terra Cotta Pots (for planting new seeds)
- Memory Book for Our Summer Vacation
- Map Art (From Our Summer Travels)
The great thing is all of these ideas are relatively inexpensive, some just use items I already have around the house. I love doing crafts with my daughter because it's hands-on time together, and it's something we both enjoy. I'm not sure how many more summers I have where she doesn't mind sitting at home crafting with mom...
Will you be making crafts at home with your child this summer?
