It's been awhile since I needed a stroller at a theme park, my daughter is now eight, but I have a niece who just turned one. She's finally at an age where she's beginning to recognize the characters and enjoys just sitting in her stroller looking at the people and lights. It really is a great age to begin visiting the parks because she's still free-- so there's no reason not to bring her along. With the holidays coming, there are a lot of special events going on at the Orlando theme parks, and we plan to visit most of them.
For the first time in awhile, we're considering stroller rental. My sister has a nice stroller that she prefers not to bring around the parks, and an umbrella type is a little too small. The strollers at the parks tend to have a lot of space, and since we are two families traveling together, we thought it might be a good idea to just rent.
As of this posting, here's the current stroller rental rates for the Orlando theme parks:
Walt Disney World Stroller Rental Rates
Single day--
Single stroller: $15.00
Double stroller: $31.00
Multiple days--
Single stroller: $13.00
Double stroller: $27.00
Universal Orlando Stroller Rental Rates
Single Stroller: $14.99
Single Kiddie Car: $17.99
Double Stroller: $24.99
Double Kiddie Car: $27.99
Seaworld Orlando Stroller Rental Rates
Single stroller: $13.15
Double stroller: $17.84
If we were spending multiple days at each park, it would probably be more economical to just buy a new stroller specifically to take with us. The Quinny range pushchairs are made with Hi tech fabrics offering comfort for your child when travelling -- this might be a good option for purchasing a new stroller, plus there are a lot of accessories in case of inclement weather. Since we only plan on doing day trips just to see the Christmas decorations, renting isn't a bad idea for us. It's really interesting to see how much the stroller rentals have gone up over the years, especially the doubles.
