There's something really, really appealing about visiting Australia. I'm sure it has to do with it being the land "down under", with a host of adventure activities that range from exploring the Outback to diving the Great Barrier Reef.
Australia is a vast country, but most tourists tent to visit two of the most populated cities, Sydney and Melbourne, which both offer a wide variety of attractions, hotels and dining.
Since I haven't had the chance to visit Australia yet, I thought it would be fun to take a look at some of the cool things to in Sydney and Melbourne -- and I'm crossing my fingers that one day I can make these a reality!
Sydney, Australia
Sydney Opera House - Besides being a fantastic piece of architecture, and an iconic landmark in Sydney, the Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts center. While visiting Sydney, I think it would be fun to stay at one of the many Darling Harbour hotels.
Blue Mountains - Just a 90 minute drive from Sydney, the Blue Mountains offer spectacular views, especially near the Three Sisters rock formation.
Bondi Beach - Simply put, Bondi Beach the most popular surfing beach in the world.
Melbourne, Australia
Phillip Island Nature Park - 90 minutes from Melbourne, Phillip Island Nature is home to one of Australia's most popular wildlife attractions, the Penguin Parade.
Queen Victoria Market - This 19th century market is a historic landmark, tourist attraction and shopping mecca. The market boasts plenty of fresh produce & seafood, handmade clothing items, toys and souvenirs.
Melbourne Zoo - Over 250 species from around the world can be found in the beautifully landscaped settings of Melbourne Zoo, just five minutes from the city center, near many Melbourne hotels.
