I can't tell you the last time I was THIS EXCITED about a Caribbean cruise— my family is seriously counting down the days until we sail Carnival Freedom on an incredible 8-day itinerary to the the Southern Caribbean. For the first time, we will be heading to Grand Turk, the Dominican Republic, Curacao and Aruba! We're still undecided on what we're actually doing at each of the ports, but I can only assume lots of sun, sand and water activities ... Hello, snorkeling!
Another first will be the journey on the newly upgraded Carnival Freedom. The ship recently emerged from drydock (that's cruise speak for a makeover!) and now features Fun Ship 2.0 bar, dining and entertainment options and unique family-friendly choices such as Dr. Seuss Bookville and Camp Ocean.
Check out this fun graphic to see all of Carnival Freedom's new spaces.
My husband and I are very familiar with Guy's Burger Joint, RedFrog Pub and Alchemy Bar, so it's safe to say that we will spend some of our downtime at those food and watering holes. My daughter is in for a treat because she will be experiencing two BRAND NEW offerings: Dr. Seuss Bookville and Camp Ocean.
Dr. Seuss Bookville reading venue is part of the line’s exclusive partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises that includes fun activities like the Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast with the Cat in the Hat and Friends, Seuss-a-palooza Story Time, and the Seuss-a-palooza Character Parade.
Camp Ocean is a marine-themed children’s program geared toward two- to 11-year-olds and featuring more than 200 ocean-inspired activities.
From the looks of things, Carnival Freedom has everything we need for an awesome family vacation— good food, entertainment, kids programming and an amazing itinerary. I can't wait to share the whole experience with you later this month! Make sure to follow hashtag #CarnivalFreedom for more photos and updates!

Just came back from crusing on carnival freedom on sept 29. Have to say was a beautiful ship. Guys burger joint was awesome. The musicical shows were out of this world. The cruise director Jenn was the best. Only negative thing i have to say is the late night dining wasnt up to par. So save you something or order room service.
