in Reviews & Giveaways

LG_disinf_wipesWith H1N1 here, and seasonal flu season around the corner, taking small measures can help keep your family healthy. One of those measures is to sanitize your home with Lysol Cleaning Products.

Does LYSOL® kill Influenza A H1N1?

A. Laboratory tests have shown that many LYSOL® products, when used according to label instructions, are effective against similar strains of Influenza virus H1N1. These LYSOL® products include: LYSOL® Disinfectant Spray, LYSOL® Disinfecting Wipes, and LYSOL® All Purpose Cleaners, both pourable and trigger products.

How can families protect themselves from Influenza A H1N1?

Like all viruses, the best way to help prevent infection and protect your family is to follow proper hygiene routines. The following routines are recommended by the CDC:

* Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after    you use it.

* Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.

* Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.

* Stay home if you get sick. CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

Lysol has put together a Cold & Flu Prevention Guide, as well as a Germ Information Center where you can learn other ways to keep your family healthy this cold & flu season.

Keeping common surfaces such as countertops, doorknobs, and telephones sanitized with disinfectants such as LYSOL Disinfecting Wipes will help stop germs.

Top 10 dirty sites in the home:

* Sponge or Counter Wiping Cloth – Kitchen

* Kitchen Sink Drain – Kitchen

* Tub – Bathroom

* Toilet Bowl ( Under Rim ) – Bathroom

* Toilet Floor – Bathroom

* Kitchen Floor – Kitchen

* Kitchen Faucet Handle – Kitchen

* Bathroom Sink – Bathroom

* Pet Food Dish

* Kitchen Table Top

20 Bacallsmom November 11, 2009 at 8:04 am

Wiping kitchen and bathroom surfaces down with disinfectant wipes and putting all our dishes in the dishwasher–the high heat of the dishwasher is supposed to kill germs a lot better than hand washing. Also using lots of hand sanitizer at work, especially since I work in a public school system. Thanks for the chance to win!

Aside from the normal wash your hands, eat correctly, get enough rest, we are also going to get the immunization (once it becomes available–right now only my grandson is eligible to get it!).

Our house is always kept very clean, and we air out the house everyday of the year for at least 30 minutes; but we do not and will not get and kind of so-called flu vaccinations.

23 DeeAnn S November 11, 2009 at 11:34 am

In our house, the minute anyone comes inside, the hands get washed! I wipe down door knobs and handles (inside and out) everyday. At school, do not share any foods with another student.
