Häagen-Dazs Caramelized Pear & Toasted Pecan Flavor Review

I admit it, I am a total sucker for new products.

I just went about head over heels last night when I saw Häagen-Dazs had a new flavor which won the Gourmet Flavor Search Competition out of 4,999 other entries. The winner is Caramelized Pear & Toasted Pecan.

The flavor is described at pear ice cream with pieces of caramelized pears, and toasted pecans.

I am actually surprised it has taken this long to actually make pear flavored ice cream. Pear is not my favorite fruit, but its certainly not my least favorite…its probably one of the more forgotten about flavors. What really drew me in was the pecans, I.love.pecans.

The pear flavor ice cream is good, it really tastes just like pear. I loved the chunks of juicy pear which really give the ice cream a nice added crunch. The pecans were awesome, and they didn’t skimp on the nuts like some ice creams do.

I love how this ice cream has an adult flavor, it really makes it like a real dessert. I could totally see this flavor combination at a more upscale restaurant.

I ended up eating the whole pint within 24 hours. It was that good.

If you like pears and nuts, this ice cream is a must try.
