Have you ever met another mother that loved to do laundry? No— you haven't. Laundry, like the dishes, is one chore that is never-ending. It doesn't matter how well you stay on top of your dirty clothes and linens, in a day or two there will be another pile (or ten!) to sort, wash, dry and fold.
Laundry Hacks for Super Busy Moms
To get through the relentless act of doing laundry, I rely on a few tips and tricks to make the process a bit less time-consuming.
Without these simple hacks I might go a little crazy trying to get out stains, find pairs of socks and dry clothes faster. Take a look, then tell me which hacks you use in the laundry room.
1. Use dish soap, or chalk, to get out grease stains—just saturate stain or rub on before washing as usual. Make sure not to dry the garment until the stain is completely gone.
2. If you need an item dry ASAP, put it in the dryer on the highest setting with a dry bath towel. Also, be sure the lint trap is clean (you should clean it after each load anyway).
3. Never lose another sock by washing and drying sets in lingerie bags.
4. Use a dry erase marker to write instructions—such as which items shouldn't be dried— on the top of the washing machine. This is really helpful if you're lucky enough to share laundry duty!
5. Remove sweat stains from white t-shirts by rubbing with white vinegar before washing.
6. Put clothespins on items that need special treatment or hand/gentle washing. If there's a stain, you can pin it directly on the soiled area.
7. Use one product in the wash to get the job done. I've been using ARM & HAMMER™ Plus OxiClean™ Stain Fighters Power Paks Laundry Detergent because it's a true all-in-one: It deep cleans, removes stains and brightens whites — plus there's no measuring required!
I just pop one or two Power PAKS (depending on load size) in the wash, and all my clothes come out fresh and clean!
ARM & HAMMER™ Plus OxiClean™ Stainfighters Power Paks Laundry Detergent are a fraction of the cost of other laundry detergents— costing up to 50% less per load than the leading brand.
8. Run out of dryer sheets? Throw a couple of tennis balls in the dryer, or —get ready for this— balls of aluminum foil! They will keep your clothes fluffy and static-free.
