Breakfast at our house has to be quick and easy. It seems we have gone through a thousand boxes of cereal and a million pancakes and our whole morning routine is getting pretty dull. I’ve also noticed that my daughter hasn’t been eating as much in the morning and I’m worried she will get sluggish with her schoolwork if she doesn’t have that fuel. In an attempt to get a heartier — but quick — breakfast in her tummy, I thought I would try Tyson Mini Chicken Sandwiches.
Before I share my quick breakfast idea, Tyson Mini Chicken Sandwiches can be purchased at select Walmart locations. When they say select, they really mean it. I used the store locator at Tyson.com and found them at a local Super Walmart. However … I accidentally went to another Walmart (that was not listed as having the sandwiches in stock) and sure enough they did not carry them. The moral of this story? The Tyson.com Mini Chicken Sandwich Locator know its stuff– Use it 🙂
At Walmart I picked up the Tyson Mini Chicken Sandwiches in the open freezer cases. These are not the cases with doors, but the ones in the center of the aisle in between the meat and freezer department. I have heard other people finding them in the actual freezer cases, so you may want to look in both places. Check out my Google+ album for my whole shopping trip.
Tyson Mini Chicken Sandwiches can really be used any time of day, for either a meal or snack. I choose to use them for breakfast, but I think they would make great after school snacks as well.
The sandwiches come in a pack of two, with 8 mini sandwiches in each box. They come with or without cheese; we choose cheese.
When you are ready to prepare, you just pop the sandwiches in the microwave for about a minute and a half while they are still sealed in their package. If I was just serving these alone for breakfast they would be ready to eat in under two minutes! That’s pretty quick!
I wanted to take it a step further and fried up an egg to serve along side the Tyson Mini Sandwiches. This takes about 3 minutes.
In about 5 minutes I had a yummy breakfast ready for my daughter– full of protein to start her day. She was really happy out the change and ate almost every bite! I think next time I will make scrambled egg patties to put on top of the sandwiches 🙂
