My sample of Cascade Platinum couldn’t have come at a better time — last week the hose to our kitchen faucet broke and since then we’ve been without water in the sink. Without a usable kitchen sink, we haven’t been able to pre-rinse our dishes before we put them into the dishwasher. Normally, with our regular dishwasher detergent, pre-rinsing the dishes is a must as they don’t get fully clean — especially caked on pieces of food — in the dishwasher. I figured since I was going to review Cascade Platinum anyway, I might as well put it to the ultimate test with dishes that haven’t been rinsed.
The results were surprising. All the dishes and glassware came out sparkling clean! I threw in a baking sheet and a few other kitchen items that I usually wash by hand and they still had a few traces of food left on them, but in defense of Cascade Platinum, these are items I usually have to scrub and rarely go in the dishwasher.
