Rome is one of my favorite cities in Italy. There’s so much history packed into what feels like a small area — it would be impossible to see even a fraction of the historic sites in the Eternal City on a single cruise stop (let alone a week!). From the Carnival Sunshine in Civitavecchia, we took the train on our own into Rome. The Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel took up the majority of the day (amazing!), followed by a quick stop at the Colosseum.
