I participated in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Alcon. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
I’ve been wearing glasses for nearly 10 years, but I needed them far longer than that. Growing up I think was too embarrassed to speak to my parents about my problem, and more importantly, I didn’t want to be seen as the “nerdy” girl at school — Oh, have times changed and now wearing glasses is cool!
Now that I know the difference between good vision with correction and poor vision without, it amazes me how I went so long without glasses or contacts. Without them, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy all the wonderful sights on my travels … like this #EyeSawGood photo I took of some “locks of love” in Venice, Italy.
Couples write their names on a padlock, attach it to a bridge and throw keys in the water to proclaim their love.
My lack of getting vision correction at a young age wasn’t due to finances, but many children in the United States can’t afford to receive proper eye exams or glasses to help them see.
Alcon developed the#EyeSawGood campaign to provide eye exams and eyeglasses to children in need. It’s simple to get involved … see good … share good … and make good happen! All you have to do is tweet a picture of something you deem good and include the hashtag #EyeSawGood. For every picture shared Alcon will donate $1, up to $50,000, to fund more than 1,000 eye exams and eyeglasses for children in need.
