Scotts Bonus S: Before and After

For the past few months, I have been working with Scotts Turf Builder to bring awareness to the new & improved Bonus S formula and how it can help clear out weeds in southern lawns.

When I first received the product I thought for sure we didn’t need much of it because our lawn looked pretty good. That was until I went out to our backyard and got down in the grass and found clover weed after cover weed.

From afar, these little weeds are hard to notice. But once you get down to their level, they almost feel overwhelming. Luckily, I had a bag of Scotts Bonus S Southern Weed & Feed on hand to take care of the problem.

I asked my husband to do the dirty work while I was out of town (he went out and bought a spreader) and a month and a half-ish later, I checked the results.

As you can see, a majority of the weeds are gone!

Here’s a little more info on Scotts Bonus S and when/how it should be applied:

When to Apply
Apply in late winter, spring, or fall.
Where to Use
Use on St. Augustine grass (including floratam), centipede, zoysia, and carpetgrass lawns.
Where Not to Use
Do not apply to lawns or mixed lawns of bahiagrass, bermudagrass, bluegrass, fine fescue, bentgrass, tall fescue or dichondra.
Coverage Area
5,000 sq. ft and 10,000 sq. ft.
What it Controls
Kills dollarweed and 24 other common lawn weeds.
Benefits
Improves lawn’s ability to absorb water and nutrients. Feeds and strengthens against heat and drought.
