When I was in high school and college, I was all about fashion and makeup. I never left my house without a full face of foundation, eye shadow, lip gloss and mascara. And I always stayed on trend when it came to my clothes and accessories. Beauty was completely materialistic.
When I became a mother that all changed. As my daughter has grown, my definition of beauty has taken on another whole meaning. Gone as the days where beauty was about how I thought others saw me, now I’m concerned with my own self-esteem and how I feel internally. I want my daughter to see the beauty is not about what’s on the outside, but rather the inside. Beauty is about confidence and feeling happy with the way you look without focusing on your “flaws” — which in reality, aren’t flaws at all.
