Atlantic Luggage Solstice Packing Challenge

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Atlantic Luggage. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have been traveling a lot lately. Like a lot, a lot. So much so that I’m actually writing this post from 30,000 feet. When you travel as much as I do, you begin to appreciate the tiny details that make life easier, especially when navigating busy airports in the midst of tight connections and flight delays.

Having a good set of luggage is crucial for transporting your stuff from one destination to the next. Whether you’re strictly packing a carry-on, or checking a full-sized suitcase for the whole family, Atlantic Luggage has an excellent varietyร‚ย of versatile, lightweight and affordable luxury sets.

Recently,ร‚ย I had the chance to review one of the pieces from the Atlantic Solstice Collection. I received the Atlantic Solstice 28รขโ‚ฌย Expandable Hardside Spinner in Yellow (also goes by Orange Sherbert) and was immediately impressed with the size. This was by far, the largest bag that I have ever owned, which meant I could now pack my family’s entire vacation wardrobe in one suitcase!

I’m calling it the BIG YELLOW BUS OF LUGGAGE รขโ‚ฌโ€œ and I LOVE IT! First, this baby is easy to spot in a sea of black bags on the baggage carousel. It’s also hard-sided, so all of the contents are safe and secure. With 360-wheels, this spinner can move easily even when fully packed– and since the suitcase only weighs 10.5 pounds, that means we can pack 39.5 pounds of “stuff” before being over-sized.

So how much can you fit into an Atlantic Solstice 28″ Hardside Spinner? I took a packing challenge to see for myself!

I packed so much into the Atlantic Solstice Luggage that I was running out of clean clothes to put in for the challenge. Needless to say, I got a lot in there … with room to spare! Including, 1 pair of snow boots, 2 pairs of heels, two pairs of flats, 1 pair of sneakers, 1 women’s jean jacket, 2 women’s jeans, 2 women’s leggings, 3 women’s dresses, 8 women’s tops, 2 women’s sweaters, 1 girl’s pea coat, 10 girl’s tops, 6 girl’s bottoms, toiletries and undergarments.

I could have easily fit my husband’s clothes or another week’s worth of clothing for my daughter or myself because this thing expands, too! Those snow boots are the real deal and there is plenty of room around them. I like how the bag has two separate compartments, the one on the right I used mostly for clothes, and the one of the left I used for shoes (and my daughter’s coat).

Here are some other great features of the Atlantic Solstice 28″ Hardside Spinner:

  • 100% Polypropylene shell material for lightweight durability.
  • Special whisper quiet dual wheel spinner system.
  • Airline-grade aluminum handle system locks in 2 positions for users of different heights.
  • Expansion capability maximizes space and packing flexibility.
  • Ergonomic high-tensile-strength zipper pulls.
  • Integrated TSA lock for added security.
  • Low profile top and side carry handles on select styles.
  • Interior zippered divider panel with two built-in zip pockets, side accessory pocket and adjustable hold-down straps.
  • 10-year limited warranty

Travel Packing Tips

  1. I’ve tested both the roll and the fold method, and rolling is the way to go if you want to use every inch of space in your suitcase. Roll your clothing as tightly as possible and then smoosh the rolls together.
  2. Make a packing list. Every time I skip this little step I leave something behind. There are some great packing apps that offer suggestions based on the destination, but pen and paper work just as well.
  3. Double-check to make sure that all your TSA approved liquids are in your carry and are not over-sized. Nothing is worse than having your favorite shampoo thrown away because it’s over 3.4 ounces. This is another reason to check a full-sized bag.
