UPS has been running a fabulous campaign this holiday season where you can post wishes for others on Twitter and Instagram with hashtag #WishesDelivered. Not only could your wish be granted, but for each wish UPS will donate $1 to one of their charity partners (Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club, or Toys for Tots) up to $100K!
Wishes submitted should be for someone else, and they should be selfless and meaningful— this means wishes should be need-based, not wants (for example, no wishes for iPhones or video game systems!).
Check out this great video from UPS for some wish inspiration.
My wish is for my local food bank, All Faiths. I was able to tour the facility few years ago and it was painfully obvious that there was more need than food available. Many families struggle with where their next meal will come from, and it's my wish that the food bank will stay stocked for those who need it this holiday and beyond.
One way for this to happen is to get the community involved and to bring more awareness to the local hunger epidemic. Volunteers are always needed, along with donations. The most needed items are canned meats, fruits, vegetables and beans; as well as whole grains, cereals, pasta and rice.
I feel it's important to help local organizations like this because you never know when YOU may need to rely on them.
So what's your wish? Hurry and submit your wish(es) to Twitter, Facebook or directly on the #WishesDelivered site — remember to use the hashtag #WishesDelivered so that UPS can make $1 donation on your behalf to a select charity!
