Weighing What Really Matters

This conversation is brought to you by Lean Cuisine. All opinions are my own.

Last week I shared a very powerful video from Lean Cuisine, that completely changes the way I look at “weight” and “the number” I read on the scale. Here it is again if you missed it the first time around.

Incredible, right?

This video made me realize that I’m not defined by my weight. I do think it’s important to stay healthy รขโ‚ฌโ€ but obsessively worrying about a number is not the way to do it. If I’m going to weigh myself, I want to weigh the things that really matter in my life. And I’m not alone. Many of my great readers responded with what they would rather be weighed on. Here’s just a sampling.

“Love this,ร‚ย I’mร‚ย most proud of everythingร‚ย I’veร‚ย survived. Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขve been through a lot so that makes me happy that Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm still standing.” – Raijean

“My son of course! Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs always a great idea to focus on the things that REALLY matter!” – Amber

“I want to be weighed by my smile. Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs pretty big!” – Anne

“I am proud of my family. My five daughters are smart, funny, kind and beautiful inside and out. My husband emigrated to the US 25 years ago with $300 in his pocket and has worked his way up to manage a very prestigious country club.” – Kate

“I am most proud of our girlsรขโ‚ฌยฆ but also of a solo trip I took with them. I went alone with very short notice to England with our two girls for a 17 day adventure. No lodging or transportation booked ahead of timeรขโ‚ฌยฆ an amazing adventure full of memories.” – Kristi

We all have something that we’re proud ofรขโ‚ฌโ€ Whether it’s motherhood, family, reaching career goals or traveling the world, these are the people and thingsร‚ย that are important in our lives.

The next time you go to step on a scale, think about what you’re most proud of. I would venture to guess thatร‚ย the number becomes far less meaningless.
