Have you ever stopped to think how awesome trees are? Yes, trees! As the biggest plants on the planet, trees are an essential part of life, giving us oxygen to breathe and absorbing carbon dioxide, which helps slow global warming. Trees also provide shelter for wildlife and support our communities by keeping property values high. There are dozens of reasons why trees rock, and Scotties Facial Tissues wants to hear about them from your 3rd-6th graders!
Scotties recently launched their 5th annual TREES ROCK! video contest in the United States for students in grades 3-6. The grand prize winner (determined by a national vote) will receive $10,000 to use on a sustainable project at their school! To enter, students are encouraged to shoot a 1-3 minute video telling Scotties why trees are so important. It's that easy!
Simpy visit www.ScottiesTreesRock.com with your student to download everything they need to get their submission ready. Environmental curriculum and tips about the many amazing things trees do in our community is provided, as well as official rules and additional info for submitting videos. Here's the winning 2015 video for inspiration.
All videos are to be submitted by November 13, 2015 at www.ScottiesTreesRock.com. The top 10 finalists will be announced in December 2015, and from there the videos will go to a national vote to determine the winner by early 2016. Prize money will be awarded at a celebratory event in April / May of 2016.
